Welcome to our dedicated Veiled Chameleon catalog. Native to the southwestern Arabian Peninsula, Veiled Chameleons are among the most popular and iconic arboreal reptiles in the hobby. Known for their distinct tall casques (helmets), fused zygodactylous feet, and prehensile tails, they make remarkable display animals for reptile keepers of all experience levels.

1. Standard Veiled Chameleon (Chamaeleo calyptratus)

The wild-type and classic line-bred Veiled Chameleon is celebrated for its striking coloration, dynamic patterns, and impressive physical traits.

  • Appearance: Males feature a tall, pronounced casque atop their heads and display bold bands of bright green, yellow, turquoise, and orange. Females remain smaller with lower casques and more uniform green-to-tan hues, which shift dynamically based on mood, temperature, and gravid state.

  • Size & Longevity: Males typically reach 18 to 24 inches in total length (including tail), while females average 12 to 18 inches. With proper care, they live between 5 to 8 years in captivity.

  • Temperament: Highly territorial and solitary. They are best housed individually and appreciated primarily as captivating display animals.

2. Piebald Veiled Chameleon (High-White Morph)

The Piebald (or "Piebald Translucent") mutation is one of the most striking graphic morphs available in the chameleon world.

  • Unique Mutation: Piebaldism causes a localized absence of pigment (leucism), resulting in bright, clean white patches across the casque, body, legs, and tail.

  • Color Contrast: The high-contrast contrast between translucent pink/white skin patches and vivid lime green or turquoise scales creates an extraordinary, high-end appearance.

  • Genetics & Selectivity: Our Piebald lines are carefully selectively bred for solid health, clean contrast patches, and robust structural genetics.

Housing & Husbandry Requirements

To ensure these arboreal lizards thrive in your care, maintain these essential parameters:

  • Enclosure: Screen or hybrid mesh enclosures are vital to ensure adequate air circulation. Adults require vertical setups measuring at least 2' x 2' x 4' filled with non-toxic live plants (e.g., Pothos, Ficus) and climbing branches.

  • Lighting & Temperature: A 10.0 or 6% T5 HO UVB bulb is essential for calcium synthesis. Maintain a basking area temperature of 85°F–90°F (30°C–32°C) and an ambient room temperature around 72°F–78°F (22°C–25°C).

  • Hydration & Humidity: Maintain overall humidity around 50%–70% with heavy morning and evening dripper or automated misting cycles. Chameleons drink water droplets directly from plant leaves rather than standing water dishes.

  • Diet: Insectivorous. Offer gut-loaded crickets, dubia roaches, silkworms, and hornworms, lightly dusted with calcium (without D3 daily, with D3 bi-weekly) and multivitamin supplements.
